Chinese in new zealand-1800's

Today for inquiry, we are learning about the Chinese and New Zealand in the 1800s. Our class wrote poems about Chinese and New Zealand. I have learned that poll tax was put in so Chinese couldn't send so much money over to China. Back in the 1900's Chinese would dig up gold and make millions of money then poll tax arrived and they could send as much.
So here is my poem:

Tax, tax,tax
Money down the
Drain.
Gold getting dug.
BUT!
That Won't Stop
Us.
You better watch
YOUR
BACK!!

Here is a photo of the Poem.
